Critique- NFL Uniform Fines

 NFL and College Uniform Rules

I truly don't understand it but why does the NFL and NCAA have such a problem with what players wear. Since the NCAA understands most college players don't have the money to pay fines like NFL players do so they don't fine them but if they could they probably would. The NFL fines players for what they wear between $5,000 and $23,000 per fine. That is for each miniscule uniform rule break a fine in this range will be given to the player. This is crazy and honestly I don't understand I mean do they want every player to look exactly the same. Things like Tinted Visors aren't allowed -sucks because they look so cool-but it is understandable; if a player gets hurt or has a possible concussion on the field, medical staff has to be able to see the players eyes clearly to understand and know what the problem is and what the necessary steps of protocol are. This is understandable but if players aren't wearing socks or the right color socks $5,628 fine for the first offense and if it happens again $16,883. Like seriously I just don't get it especially for some socks like players all have to wear matching socks or they get fined to me just doesn't make 'cents'. The amount of fans especially young football fans who follow players and team based purely off of how cool they look and buy players jerseys and go to games because their favorite player looks "Drippy" is crazy. These kids loved Odell Beckam Jr. because 1 he made a 1 handed catch and 2 he has the hair that looks cool and he does little things to his uniform that make him stand out as well as wear 'Drip' accessories. Odell was a social media sensation and basically every kids favorite player for quite some time and I'm not taking away from how good a player he was saying people only followed him because how he looked but they made a way of wearing your socks named after him. They call them 'Odell' socks because he would scrunch them up to add a ripple effect and now you can go online and look up 'Odell Socks' and you will find tons of option. The NFL is stopping players from standing out and bringing life to the game that people love and not only are they taking away from it but they are punishing players who do try to and this just doesn't make sense to me.
